The Refrigeration Technician role is essential to ensuring the proper operation, reliability, and energy efficiency of refrigeration and air conditioning systems integrated into smart buildings. Working directly in the field, the refrigeration technician contributes to the installation, commissioning, diagnosis, and optimization of electromechanical equipment, while working closely with internal teams and clients.
Position
Reporting to the Refrigeration Team Lead, the Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the installation, commissioning, and proper operation of refrigeration and air conditioning systems in automated buildings. They act as a technical expert in the field, working directly with the design, programming, electrical, and commissioning teams to ensure the quality of deliverables, compliance with standards, and client satisfaction.
Responsabilities
- Understand the control sequences and operating logic of refrigeration and air conditioning systems integrated into automated buildings.
- Perform refrigeration connections according to ACCS plans and standards.
- Actively participate in system commissioning: verification of pressures, temperatures, etc.
- Collaborate with the commissioning and programming teams to resolve discrepancies between actual system behavior and the planned sequences.
- Provide technical support for complex issues or post-installation adjustments, particularly during the break-in period or seasonal changeovers.
- Ensure quality assurance of the final product and provide client training.
- Prepare verification, progress, and deficiency reports.
Requirements
- DEP in refrigeration or a related field
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a similar position
- DDC experience, an asset
- Excellent customer experience skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Adaptability, sound judgment, and autonomy
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
